Ah, George and Gracie. When Gracie (daughter? of Thimble and Rip) was five weeks old, she(?) got her
foot caught in scrollwork on a cage. Broke it. George (son? of Snap and Snip) was five weeks old and
began feeding Gracie through the cage bars of the "hospital" cage. I opened the door and he went in.
He's been feeding her ever since. I think, though, that Gracie may be a he!
Then we have Cloudy
(daughter of Bogie and Bacall) Bacall sat too hard, and did damage to Cloudy's hip. Doesn't stop her
at all from being a normal lovebird. She laid an egg in my hand one day! She takes a bath with me.
She is the mascot of our family. She is the most spoiled bird in the house. If you notice in her first
photo, there is a mighty sore toe, compliments of Juliet. She wants her nest box NOW!
Sunny nearly
met the same fate as his siblings. Lightening had bitten him in the wing and the leg. Both were infected.
I began hand feeding him at 4 days of age. If ever I felt like I was helpless, and the situation hopeless,
this was it. I kept expecting him to give up the fight. He did not. What a handsome little fellow
he is! Well, hope Sunny is a he - sure would make Cloudy happy! And regarding that most spoiled bird
in the house statement...ahm...there may be a runner up on that position!
